Well, I may have screwed up.
What would be the symptoms if I put the clutch disc in backwards?
I replaced the transmission in my midget today. This is a 1275 with ribcage. While I was at it I replaced the oil pump, which meant I had to pull the clutch off. I set the disc and pressure plate aside as I took it off with the disc still in the pressure plate. I don't remember changing the orientation between the disc and pressure plate, but am getting older so who knows what I might have done. I know I did not check the orientation when I put it back, I just picked up the whole assembly.
After assembling everything my clutch pedal releases a lot higher than before. There is almost no free play at all.
So, is it likely I put the disc in backwards, or is there something else wrong?
Thanks,
Jeff
