BN2 clutch cover or pressure plate question

Sorry for all the posts here but my resto is getting close to the end and a lot of loose ends need to be wrapped up all at once.

Does anyone know if Borg and Beck 45692 / 14 is the correct clutch cover aka pressure plate for a BN2? I have a new AP clutch cover and the distance from the pressure plate to the release bearing surface is .190" less on the AP unit.

In the 30 years I've been involved with this car it has had a clutch issue which I am trying to resolve. All the "take up" was in the last 1/2 to 1 inch of pedal travel making it very hard to be smooth. It has never been grabby or chatter or slipping or anything. When I took it apart I expected a worn out disc, but everything is like brand new. The linkage fron the pedal lever to the front lever is definitely kluged and not original but appears strong.

I have everything new including the linkage pieces but I would prefer to (at least) put the old disc back in if the issue is the linkage or clutch cover because I don't want to have the flywheel faced if I can avoid it.

Any ideas?

Since I already own all the new clutch parts, I decided to just have the flywheel cut and install everything new to take all those components out of the equation.

A little more info, the trans is out of a BN4 (at least that's what the little disc tag says) but it still retains the mechanical linkage clutch so I would assume this is the BN2 bell housing mated to it. Is there any chance there is some incompatibility there?

I took some measurements on a BN2 cover plate I took out of my car. Bearing surface to friction surface is 2.55". Bearing surface to flywheel surface is 2.78".

It"s is almost new - less than 100 miles. No markings I can find but it came from Moss so it's probably AP.

When I was looking for a gearbox for a BN2, as I remember I was told a BN4 or later would work but some machining would be required. Don't know if that's true as I got a BN2 gearbox.
