choke cable

Does anyone know off the top if a right hand drive choke cable will work on my left hand drive bugeye? The original stock #'s are different; maybe length difference?

As far as I remember (and I'm not near my books right now to confirm) the choke and starter pulls on the Bugeye were in the same place on RHD and LHD cars -- they were not swapped -- so the cables would be the same.

But this is off the top of my head.

Thanks, guys. Now. There was no choke cable on the car when I got it. How do I install it? Is there a bracket? The handbook I have isn't very explicit.

Is a bracket that goes between the carbs. Look at Moss Catalog page 24 Items 60, 61, 75, 63, 64, 65. The Moss catalog with all the exploded drawings is your friend.

If you do not have a catalog, get one. Meanwhile use the one on line. Caraburetors - Bugeye is the page.

Jack. It's the other working end that I don't know about. I have various reference manuals including the Moss and VB catalogs to research but so far I haven't come across anything that describes how to position the control end of the cable. The repair manual assumes there is one in the car so it pretty much skims over it. Is there a bracket for the control end? A picture would be helpful. Thanks again.

You mean the knob end. Just stick the whole thing through the dash and fasten a nut on the back with a washer under it.

Tis so simple I guess no one thought to question it.
