Choke cable connection?

It has only been 36 years since I took my engine apart but I am having a hard time remembering all the connections. I am having a problem with the choke cable connection at the carbs - I think. I have a pair of H4's so my setup might be different than the usual SU's found on other 948's. The choke cable passes through a cross drilled bolt on a bracket between the two carbs but I see no way that it can be secured to that bolt. There is just a hole to pass through. Is the cable simply secured by the nut that fastens it to the dashboard? I have the connections for the carb choke linkage hooked up. For the moment I just hope to get the engine running next week for the first time since 1973. The dashboard is not installed as the car is not quite ready to get painted yet.

There is a little thingy used to terminate the cable. Got a replacement from Joe Cuto. Thing hooks to the lever arm on the choke pull off. That's the front set of linkages that hook between the two carbs. Again a reference to the British Term "Fiddly Bits". Someone I'm sure will post a picture.

I have the inside of the cable connected to the carb choke levers but my concern is the sheath connection. I'm wondering if it is secured at the carbs or only at the knob end inside the car.

Only to the dash. The sheath is just on a smaller hole to stop it at the carbs.

I was hoping that was the way it worked. I sure hope it will start next week. Today I put the juice in the radiator and a few moments later I heard it splashing on the garage floor under the engine. Error on my part as I had the engine block drain valve turned the wrong way. Now I have to wonder what else I have set wrong.
