FYI.---Just got my new brake pressure warning switch (just the switch not the whole PDWA) from Moss $37 and it is $59 from VB. It came in a Ford package with a Ford Part # C8AZ-2B264-A. I looked it up, the switch fits a 67-69 Ford Mustang and other Fords and Mercurys 67-72. It sells on the internet for $20 at https://www.dallasmustang.com (free shipping) and is available at NAPA and at Ford for around $27.

So, how much resemblance does it bear to the original ? Same fittings ?
Same dimensions ?
Same fitting locations ?
Same material (brass instead of cast iron) ?
Same mounting ?
Same switch ?
Same wiring connection on the supplied switch ?

Oh yeah, wanna give me your old one ? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Posted that a while ago, that's where I got mine a # of years ago. One problem you might encounter is the switch body might have shrunk over time.

This is just the switch itself not the whole PDWA. The switch fits, almost looks the same (plastic) and the wiring connection is the same. I doubt if a Concours judge would notice the difference and hey its what Moss supplys.

Sorry, my bad. You wrote switch & I read PDWA.

Odd that VB's price is even higher than TRF, who seem to be supplying a genuine Girling part.

I wonder if this was originally a Ford Part that Triumph only used to make it U.S. legal-----?
Or if -- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif -- Ford originally used a Lucas part? Wouldn't be the first time a Ford product had Lucas, such as some of the Shelby Mustangs with their Lucas Square 8 driving/fog lamps!

All of the old Fords from 1939-on until the late 60's had the hydraulic brake lite switch.I can understand that this is the most readily available switch since many hot rods are still using these and they still sell pretty well.

What I can't understand is the TR suppliers obviously overcharging for the part. NAPA sells rebuilt TR distributors for a little over $100.00 while the TR outfits get almost $200.00. A little shopping can save some big $$$.
