TR2/3/3A Brake Line Flares

I just read that the Automec brake line kits come with universal flares. Has anyone had issues with these lines? I connected and removed the brake restrictor and caliper bridge pipes fittings and don't like the look of the witness marks. It seems like a regular bubble flare would work much better in these locations.

The main difference in Triumph lines are the longer flare nuts. Do those lines have long nuts? Some of the lines sold by the big 3 suppliers had nuts that were too short, so the nut bottomed before the flares made contact.

The Automec set I have has the long nuts so no problem with it bottoming out. The other issue is a few of the lines are too long. I would like to cut and then put a double or bubble flare as needed. Is there any concern with this?

In the kit I got the line from the 5 way block to the rear axle was too long. I did a larger loop by the jacking point to use up the extra line.

I made up a bubble flare on a scrap line to test on the restrictor valve. I believe the witness mark indicates a proper match between line flare and fitting. You can also see from the picture that the valve port is not the same as those on the brake and clutch cylinders which would accept a double flare. I am going to give this a try and can replace the line if I have any issues.

I think 1 or 2 of the lines on the restrictor take a copper washer also and that looks like one. The stock British stuff is longer. Many auto stores have brake lines with the long ends that fit the old British stuff. Locally we have a large hydraulic shop that makes lines to match with a double flare. Those guys freak out on British stuff that only have a copper washer like the slave cylinder. I started making my own with a kinda cheap flare making tool.

My restrictor is setup like the picture below. The two copper washers are on the fitting that goes between the main valve body and the 5-way.
