Almost Entered my First Show

A local dealer / garage was hosting a car show on Saturday. I had intended to bring Baby Blue and show the car, however, when I got up Saturday AM it was an utterly beautiful day. It seemed to be almost too nice to have the car parked in a giant lot. Then, of course, my daughter Jessica had put "the look" on her face. When she does that, I am just mere putty in her hands. I figured there will always be another car show, but I'd much rather be driving with my favorite passenger riding shotgun. So, we ran a couple of errands and then tooled through the back roads to visit my parents, and Jessica loved every moment of it, except when she realized that we were headed home after we visited my parents...which she loudly protested as she wanted me to keep on driving!

I am sure I will show Baby Blue at some point, but Saturday just wasn't going to be that day.

In my experience any time you are driving it you are showing it. I was at a stop light yesterday and I could see the guy behind me in my rearview mirror taking a picture of my BE.
I love to go to car shows, but I think most of the fun is driving to the car show and driving home from it. The further the car show is from my house the better.

Same here.

To be honest, I can only take so many car shows per year; too much sitting around.
But driving one of my sports cars? I'll do that anytime!

Today, we went to a church picnic and got lots of comments when we got there (plus waves during our drive).
Yesterday, I was sitting next to a van at a traffic light in my Super 7. The van window comes down and suddenly I'm looking at a Nikon lens snapping about 5 or 6 photos. All I could do was smile. :friendly_wink:

I was out and about today again with Jessica and spotted two MGBs whose driver's had the same idea I did. Also a 20s or 30s era car, complete with driver wearing a flight helmet and goggles going in the opposite direction, so I couldn't get too good of a look at what I saw. I'm one of those people who has always enjoyed driving, almost regardless of what vehicle. The Sprite has taken that enjoyment to a completely different level.
