For the first time in 4 years of ownership the Tunebug has made the morning drive to work. Had to show my coworkers that the car really does exist, and isn't just a photo on my wall.

Drew, very cool!! I love driving my MGB to work. It's so small by today's standards that it makes the cars around it look huge! And if you gotta go to work, why not have fun getting there!!

Nice parking lot!
Bet the co-workers were green with envy at Tunebug.
Very nice.

I sent that picture to my family, and my mom suggested that I could do a whole series of children's books: "the Tunebug goes to work, the Tunebug goes to the doctor, the Tunebug goes on vacation, the Tunebug plays hooky, the Tunebug gets a bath"

You do forget sometimes how small a Bugeye is until you see one dwarfed by a 2wd Toyota pickup! I took one co-worker with me to lunch, and he enjoyed the trip. Bugeyes just make people smile.

Oh, and I should break the 1000 mile mark this weekend. Time for another tuneup and maybe some work on my persistent oil leak. I'm also not terribly happy with my exhaust choice (that's a fairly cheap one to fix, though). Otherwise the little guy is running well.

I must say, it was really nice to be able to *use* the car today, and not just *work on* the car. A real step forward.

LOL, that reminds me of that trip to the lake of the ozarks. We went to visit this castle and there was only two car spaces left but we got 5 spridgets in those two spot. 3 pulled in normally with the middle one straddling the white line and then two pulled in sideways in back in each spot. Now that got attention LOL.

Just remember not to parallel park or some dufus van or SUV will try to run over you in the parking lot.

Oil leak Drew. What is this oil leak. You do know that Miss Agatha has put all that behind her. She is now a true lady. LOL.

Right side of the engine. I think it's coming from the dipstick tube -- the little plastic thing that the dipstick sits in (keep in mind this is a 1275). It's on my list to track down. Right now I just check the oil level before drives.

Drew, if it coming from the dipstick hole, then it may be trying the vent the crankcase there, and blowing the dipstick up as the engine runs, we have had the same issue with the race cars, we developed a simple trick for it. We use a carb return spring, bolted the block, were normally the alternator/genorator bracketes would be, and then we hook the other end to the dipstick at the top loop hole, so what that does is hold the dipstick in place, it can easily be pulled on and off the dipstick when you check your oil level, and it looks neat.

I'll give that a try, Hap.

It does look like the little black plastic tube that the dipstick fits into is loose -- you can wiggle it around a bit. I wonder if there is oil coming from where that tube sits on the metal of the block. It's hard to see in there.

I need to do another tuneup, so I'll probably pull most of the things off that side of the engine and have a good look soon.

Doc, I love that picture! I'd take the MGB any day.
