Dear All,
I spent the weekend under my TR6 to repair damage done by leaking brake fluid reservoir. Pulled all hydraulics out and repainted the area beneath them with epoxy paint and reinstalled the whole mess. At least with epoxy (PPG DTR)I have a little more time to clean away a leak without destroying the paint. Any who, I re-routed the fuel inlet line and filter so that the line drops straight down off and to the rear of the fuel pump and down to the frame. Installed a new filter (all metal housing) and discovered afterwards the I had it on backwards. Car seems to run fine. Any possiblity of future problems? I took another one of same design apart and noticed that the inlet side of the fuel filter had a metal baffle that the fuel flows around and into the paper filter that is in turn glued over the outlet side. What possible problem could reversing this cause? Getting to it is a real challenge, hence my hesitance to fix the boo-boo.
