TR2/3/3A Fuel line to tank routing?

Could someone please describe or post a photo of how the fuel line routes from the tank outlet to the junction under the frame? The 2-D drawing from the service manual is very puzzling - it seems to be almost a straight line and I can't tell if it goes along the frame rail, or under the axle, or over the axle. The latter would make the most sense to me, but there are no bends there!

I think this part of my fuel line was homemade years ago, but has perfectly good line & fittings. It seems to want to route very close to the muffler & under the axle - I don't think this is a good idea, so I'll straighten & re-bend it. My tank is a '57 with the outlet in the center, but I think once I understand how the line gets behind the axle, the rest is easy.

Here's some shots I have handy from when a local friend had the same question. Hopefully one version will help you see your way through this.

The first set is from my TR4, it has a connection more towards the driver's side (not centered) but may give you some notion. The arrows all point to the front of the car.

It exits the tank:

Moves to the side and curves uo against the floor and starts over the axle:

Now forward of the axle, it is clipped to the floor before descending and connecting with the rubber line:

It passes thru the frame as the rubber line connects with the long hard line to the front:

By way of contrast, here are two pics from my TR3A that also has the tank outlet towards the driver's side but is set-up a little differently.

The rubber line connects directly to the tank outlet:

The rubber line then connects to a hard line that jumps over the axle and heads forward (ignore that bit of fuel line, just there as a buffer to protect the metal line):
