Alternator Conversion Complete

Finished the conversion yesterday - used the kit from Triumph Rescue. Fit perfectly, no shims needed to align the pulley. this was really easy to install. Now I bypassed the ammeter (still in dash but inactive) and I installed an aftermarket 2" voltmeter under the dash. Nice upgrade to the electrical...

I think the kit was a good way to go.... I'm still having a rough time getting mine fitted correctly.

Can you tell me which terminal you connected the wires on the starter solenoid too?

The kit came with a cable to connect the alternator to the main 5/16" terminal on the solenoid. From there I used the existing brown wire to connect to the fuse block. From the fuse block I ran a new 10 ga wire from there to the light switch behind the dash, bypassing the ammeter. Is that what you mean?

Yes, a nice change...I had installed a powerful Spal cooling fan and the generator could not produce enough current at idle. The alternator has no problem.
