Vandervell bearings - part numbers, VP2 or VP19

I have several sets of NOS Vandervell bearings, some of which will go into a race engine build if I can figure out if they're the right ones. Anyone know the part numbers well enough to know if the items listed below are VP2 material (good) or VP19 (street motor)?

Rod bearings:
BL part no. 014-1176, on the bearing shell the number is "VP 2783"
next set: number on box is VP 91306, on bearing shell number is 5146.
third set: no part number on box, on bearing shell number is 2A690.


Mains:
first set: on bearing shell the following markings appear: P D DJ SA GS 1229SA

second set: VPM 91120 on box, VP 4691 on bearing shell - since these were packaged in a ROver Group box with the name "Glacier-Vandervell" on it I am assuming they are the VP 19 reticulated tin items -

VP91120 is the tri metal main bearing for the 1275

VP572 is the tri metal rod bairng for 948/1098/1275 (except A+ 1275)

I use tri metal bearing in all rebuilds street or race, the factory used them for OEM, so why should we vary, you can source good quailty tri metal bearings in the King and ACL brand name theses day, and they work ever bit as good as the VP2s.

as to the bearings: So the rod bearings with Leyland OEM packaging will all be VP2 then? I knew there was a point to my ebay madness, snapping up every set I saw for a while there -

The OEM bearings were the VP2 material Vandervell tri metal bearing. The trimmetal bearing always look different from the cheapie bearing, the idium lead always has duller finish to it, a dull grayish look to it, compared to a shiny aluminum mix bearing.

Rod Bearings:
#014-1176, VP2783 on the shell; Corresponds to VPR572 in VP2 material.
VP91306, 5146 on the shell; 1-3/4 Rod Bearings for later A engines, VP2.
2A690 on the shell; VPR572 in VP2 material.

Main Bearings:
Shell markings: P D DJ SA GS 1229SA, Most likely Glacier M3317SA, Reticular Aluminum material.

VPM 91120 on box, VP 4691 on bearing shell: VP2 material. Does AEG158 show as well? If so, then helps indicate VP2 material.

Like Hap says, VP2 material is a "dull gray" and may be splotchy dark gray due to age. VP19 material (80% AL and 20% Sn) is reticular aluminum and stays shiny silver for a long time.

VPR572A and VPM91120A are the VP19 material in rod and main bearing respectfully. Sometimes the A is overlooked thinking that Vandervell only made the tri-metal bearing. Glacier packed Vandervell tri-metal bearings as well under the Part Number M3317LC (main) and much rarer B4302LC (rod). Rods were not done nearly as much.
