Top up wind noise

At 60 mph the wind noise in my midget is very loud. Not quite as bad as with the top down but still very loud. Is this normal? That is one of the questions I wanted to ask the people that drove to the meet up. The seals around the windows are not much, I wonder if there is a way to improve this, at least maybe something you could put on temporary and then remove to use on a longer trip. The vent windows tend to blow enough air into the cab area on the highway, its just that wistling , tearing wind noise that is so loud.

My stereo will rise above all that noise too but it seems there should be another way. Especially in cooler weather.

I went thru a dozen or more sets of ear plugs coming home and my ears still rang for a couple of days. Probably need double hearing protection to really cancel the noise.. Or you could put sound deadener all over the car. It would only take 500 lbs or so ..

You know don't laugh too much. I got a nice full face with a neck roll that I bought about a year ago and it really makes a nice quiet ride on the motorcycle. In fact it is much quieter than the midget with the top up. I mean, top down is one thing, that is wind blowing all around, but top up the noise is much more annoying. I got some ideas right now for longer distance driving in the midget. something you might have to remove to get the doors open. maybe magnets or something holding the inner top seal agaist the glass on the inside. Maybe Rik can help me with getting it to look decent once I get something to work. Hey, I never been in a car with the side screens before going down the highway, how do they do? or what about hard tops?

Oh, yeah that is for top down wind on your head. I want to find out about those as well. I got some plexiglass and a big ole piece of lexan that was used and discarded from my work that I brought home.

Someone reported a year or so ago that they could lay a peice of paper on the passanger seat and it stayed there. Called windblockers, think Moss has them as well as a web site, google it.

Hay, what ever works to keep the wife happy so she will ride a bit with you. They are removeable you know.

Wind wings and a wind blocker for the win. Some of us are the very far side of 60 you will remember.
