BJ7 Trim Recession (Convertible Top)

The trim piece just to the right of the seatbelt (behind the seat, and exposing the screw head) has receded on both sides of the car, exposing the metal edge of the aluminum angled piece. And the dang corner has cut a slash in the tonneau cover. So, questions:
- what is the proper name for that trim piece?
- name for the wee rubber bit at the front of the trim piece?
- for the aluminum angle that it attaches to?
- what options do I have, other than replacing it?
I was thinking that I would go back about six inches from the end, cut through the trim, then slide the short piece forward (and anchor it somehow, if it won't stay). Put electrical tape or some such over the exposed aluminum edge. Any comments on this? suggestions as to cutting it (I figured tin-snips, but if anyone has tried other approaches, please advise). Etc.!
And has anyone else had this problem? It seems weird to me that the trim would shrink. Thanks, Doug

The trim may have shrunk due to someone stretching it on around the bend in the first place but as it a short piece, it does seam strange.
If I am reading this correctly, the trim piece is a part of a set Seal-Set hood /screen pillars according to that A. H. Spares catalogue,
the end cappings are just that, end cappings hood seal and they come in LH or RH. The Ally piece again is part of a set and is called RETAINER side and rear centre and comes as a set of 4 pieces.
I am sure that you could get the material on your side of the pond, , I would not have thought that you need new Ally, but If I was doing it I would get a new seal set rather than butt some pieces up, if you did go that route get some black adhesive/sealant and stick them to the ally and to each other. it will not look 100% but will help keep the weather out.
