suggestions for brake system

converting bugeye front drums to disc. brakes from a early model midget I stripped. what would be the best year of parts to use for master cylinder /pedal box? I have the original bugeye part, the early midget pedal box and hydraulics, or should I go for certain years?
also existing lines appear in acceptable condition, should I replace steel lines

I wouldn't replace hard lines unless they are damaged or have corrosion in them. I quick peek should tell the tale.

It is best to use the later MC with the 3/4" bore with the disks but the original 7/8" one works too, just takes more peddle force

Found the answer in MOSS Catalog. A bit pricey but solution for brake pedal pressure with Disc Brake upgrades to older cars.

FYI.

$15 more (after shipping) gets you an OEM Lockheed brass sleeved one, which will end your pitting problems forever. Shipping is free and Joe stands behind his work like no one I've ever seen. Everyone is always impressed with what they get back and in the 6 or 7 years since these have been available from Sierra, I've yet to hear a single complaint.

Keep the original BE master cylinder; get it resleeved to match the later series diameter used with the discs; don't forget to replace the rear drum parts as well when you adopt the 'new' disc brakes.
I've had one master cylinder re-sleeved, with a change in diameter to match the Rivergate Datsun slave cylinder; hopefully this winter get the second BE together, and both bores will be changed for discs and Rivergate.
