I have a brand new rear deck and both new front sections to install. Any suggestions? How about priming and painting (when to do that)? I have the interior out already. Thanks for any advice.

Are the panels bare metal? If they have to be welded in sand all the primer/paint off of the area to be welded and at least an inch away from the welds to prevent contamination of the weld.

Once the panel is installed, seal it if it was bare metal or if the primer used was not compatible with the type of paint to be used. Use an epoxy sealer, prime and fill and block as needed. Evercoat Glaze Coat is a great skimming 2k putty...........new panels are never as perfectly straight and wave free as you think they will be.

Will you be doing all the install, prep and paint? If so, the painting is the easy part. 98% of a paint job is the prep work. Sand until you hate sanding and then it is almost ready to paint.

I just finished painting my Porsche 930 and have no finger prints left. It took a month to prep and 4 days to shoot.

Thanks. The panels are brand new and are bare metal. Someone else who is skilled at welding will do the job. I wanted to know how to disconnect the current panels so that no mistakes are made. I see there is a support in front of the gas tank which is welded to the deck and there is welding on the front panels. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
