rear suspension is together now. Front hubs and brakes are next project.

Has anyone ever fabricated a spacer to fit behind the wire wheel spline hub so that you can switch from wires to regular wheels?

Thaks,

Greg

I don't remember if anyone has created for mass marketing such a spacer specifically for this purpose, but it has been done "privately"! There might even be something available "off the shelf" at the right auto parts store, since the 4 x 4.5" PCD is a pretty common pattern. Finding the proper thickness might be the tougher part of the search.

I always thought that the 6mm spacer that Moss sells was 'tailor made' for that purpose.

Hi Greg,

Check with www.revingtontr.com. Neil sells exactly the spacer you need for your TR3. I forget the precise thickness- something like 6mm, IIRC - but more importantly it is machined to fit perfectly over the TR lug studs and the center of the hub, unlike those "universal" spacers designed to work on various lug patterns using slotted holes (that don't necessarily center the spacer exactly).

Neil's product is the right thickness to allow the use of standard length studs and not shorten (or replace) them for the wire adapters, so that you can convert back and forth to disk wheels any time you wish.

From the Moss Site...
Everything I've read says 6mm (1/4") is the right thickness.
