With the Sprite finished and waiting for the upholsterer (me) to get off his bum and get busy, I got back on the Prefect for the winter. I got the doors stripped and now in epoxy and back on the car for safe keeping. They need very little work otherwise. Meanwhile, I have removed the bonnet started trying to correct it. I have decided it probably blew up going down the road by some PO. that did significant damage to the skin but seriously bent and distorted the hinge mount brackets. I have drilled the spot welds and removed them from the bonnet and finally, after several hours on each one, I think they are ready to reinstall. the trick will be getting them back on while keeping the bonnet fit to the body. Here are photos of the doors reinstalled. The third is the fully finished wings stored inside. The doors are not fully closed because their insides and the jambs are already finish painted.
