Front loop hanger hole on rear spring, mine has a round sleeve in it, after removing the original bushing. Is this part of the original bushing or is it part of the spring. It is in there pretty tight, I have not receivec my new bushings as of yet so do not know if they will fit. Rear hanger hole of spring does not have this sleeve. Need to know before I put the Hammer and serious heat to it???

The front bushing on the rear springs should have a steel sleeve on the outside. If the one you removed has no steel outside sleeve it is still in the spring. Yes you normally have to drive them out with a socket or similar sized drift. they are usually rusted in. A hammer or press is the nomal tool in this regard. No heat!

For those of you out there wondering how to get the sleeve out this is what worked for me. I tried a drift to get the sleeve out and bent the rod on my vice while applying pressure with a heavy mallett. Decided to use an open ended hack saw to cut the sleeve. Then hammered a heavy flat bladed screw driver between the spring and the sleeve. It was really rusted in place. After some hammering and breaking the blade on the screw driver I was finally able to mangle the old sleeve enough to pound it out. I think that is the only way this sleeve was coming out. I now have clean spring hangers

Mark, I turned down a piece of steel slightly smaller than the OD of the sleeve, with a pilot on one end to fit inside. One shot on the hydraulic press, and they pop right out.
I also have a puller made along the same lines that uses a nut and a long bolt to pull the bushings out using an impact wrench.
