So here's the deal... My outrigger's are in great shape until the point where they meet the outerpanel's when it's time for the tear down there are two, one on each side that will need some fresh metal, as well as the bottom three inches of each door. my question is is this a costly operation? and would i be better off finding some new doors? your thoughts...
as far as unseen rust and rot i'm fairly confident i shouldn't have too many surprises from the photos of other projects mine seems to be pretty decent. thank you healey faithful!

Just be prepared for the probability that if you're seeing rot in the ends of the outriggers then the rust will almost certainly be into the inner sills and inner dogleg area, rear portion of rocker panels, etc.
As for the doors, nothing fits your car as well as your doors. other doors you may find will have less but similar rust issues, and if you have to replace bottoms due to pinholes, or major rust through, it's all the same repair.

the car was throughly restored in the 80's all outer panels were removed so fingers crossed. the bottom of the car didn't revieve much attention, with that said it's in great shap floorpans dont need replacing and the chassis straight is rust free. then again i'm preparing for the worst when that day comes. for now she's in a garage (finally) and is being loved dearly

That's what I thought when I started mine. Three outriggers, a pair each of outer, middle and inner sills and inner dogleg panels later ....

The good news was that the outer skins were in good shape. I cleaned them up and applied a layer of fiberglass to the inside of the bottom 8" so no more rust would come back.
