high beam/engine light

Odd problem with my high beam/engine light. For some reason the blue beam light glass blew on me a couple of months back and the red engine glass went yesterday. The actual bulbs are still working.

I have tried to remove them but can't figure a way to. Tried to see if they unscrew from the front of the dash and also from behind the dash as well.

Any suggestions on how to remove these bulbs for replacement?

Which model and what year?

On my '76 B, there are clips holding them on from the back. The first time i took them out i removed the tach to get a better view.

you pretty much need to have the hands of a 5y.o. to be able to do anything easily back there. It's not impossible to do stuff with "grown-up" hands, just a little cramped.

Thanks.. I was thinking of that while I tried to locate the stuff the other day. I would be just my luck to pull the wrong wire!

A mirror and a flashlight can help.

I posted this problem on another BBS and one fellow thought that something odd was going on as he had never heard of such. The bulbs have not blown, but rather the plastic coloured lense (red/blue). This has happened over a period of a few months. He suggested that the only thing I can figure is that the lights have much too high wattage bulbs in them, or the system voltage is off the scale - whatever, it needs to be found and fixed before replacing them. I suppose that for plastic jewels some alien solvent might do it, but nothing should break glass ones
