front brakes and calipers

i plan to do my brakes right after i get my new PeterC shocks installed....
my brakes work fine right now and stop evenly, although i know the pads are mostly gone...
my question is...should i rebuild the calipers or leave them alone and just change the pads, and hoses, both of which i already have......
anything else i should need for a proper brake changing?
anti squeal shims? turn the rotors?...zzimmmmy

Definitely change the hoses. I would inspect the calibers closely looking for abnormalities. Also, check the bleed valves. If they check out, no sense in rebuilding them. I have never used anti sueal shims and my brakes work fine. I usually get a new set of rotors since they are usually cheap and found at the local parts store. My 2cents and I'm sure others will give their nickle as well.

start with the pads and soft lines. If you need rotors, get 'em.

Wouldn't do much more than you have to..... (says the guy who just ordered everything but the hardlines earlier this week /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )

Heh, by the end of August, I'll probably have all new flexible hoses and some new hardlines ... and maybe some rear brakes, as the ones that are on there are starting to get a little thin ... time for some brake maintenance, as the previous ones have lasted quite well for many years now!
