TR2/3/3A 1960 TR3 Front Brakes

After closer examination of my front brakes I discovered there was no pin to hold the pads in place. One of them was about to fall out. VB lists them for my car, Moss does not. Is there any other option to use? Long cotter key or something else? I haven't pulled of the right side yet but I'm betting the dpo did not install that side correctly as well.

Another source is The Roadster Factory. They list a pad and pin kit...RFK605. Any pin could be used that fits the hole, is long enough and has two holes (one on both ends) for a small cotter pin fitment so the pin doesn't fall out. Long cotter pins would work also, as they were used on early Saab disc brakes. The pins are only there to hold the pads in.

Edit: Another alternative is go to your local FLAPS and see what they have. Should be able to find something close. Even if it's longer, you can always cut to length and drill another hole.

Apparently your car has calipers from a later car. The original calipers for a 60 TR3A used plates and bolts to retain the pads instead of pins. VB has them listed because they fit a 62 TR3B (which used the later calipers) and they don't know the difference.

Moss has the pins, PN 582-020. TRF has them as PN 509058.
