I have a bolt on ringgear flywheel assembly for my 56 TR3. I know it is not correct but that's what came with the car. The previous owner used it that way and it distroyed the ringgear and clutch because thay were using the bullnose starter. I know I have to use a gear reduction starter because the Transmission housing will not except the the correct late starter drive. My question is do I need or should I turn the ringgear over on the flywheel so it will engage with the pinion on the side with the angle cut, or the straight cut? The original starter for this would have had a pinion that came back to the starter, not one the drives out to the starter like the gear reduction style. Also does the correct gear reduction starter for the bolt on style have the pinion gear with the 10 teeth? Please look at the pictures to help explain.
