Decided to get to the clutch M/C & slave cylinder replacement on the Green (For Sale) Cortina.
Got the M/C out,but the slave cylinder was relaced
with an aftermarket unit.After much "talking to myself"-
- privte disCUSSion,I found out that it had been buried behind the plate between the engine/transmission.Only took
1-1/2 - 2 hours!

That's a good one. Reminds me of the time a friend (a very good LBC mechanic) and I installed an overdrive gearbox in a GT6. Everything went well, took the old box out and put the new one in, with a new clutch, press plate, throw out bearing, too.

After we buttoned everything back up, we sauntered over to the bench to enjoy a nice cold beer. Sitting right next to the beer cooler was the new throw-out bearing! We'd forgotten to put it in!

One more time, out came the gearbox, in went the bearing. A long day, it was.

I think it was more of the Previous Mechanic.
Probably the same guy that "rebuilt" the engine.
Just got done having it redone!
