How to carry your hood

I've been looking around for something to stow my hood away, all I can find is a piece by bugeyeguy.com. Looks decent, but I was wondering if anyone else had suggestions. I'm looking at doing a 2 or 3 day road trip to follow the Amgen Tour de California with the car, should be some good driving.

I am not sure of this but I think the stow bag by BugeyeGuy requires removing the the bar at the back of the hood in order to fold it up to put it in the bag. Then later you have to put the bar back in to use the hood. If you don't mind doing that the I think his product is the way to go. I don't know anyone else that makes something like that. I bought a red hood from him and it is of very high quality and looks great and was reasonably priced. you might also look at his side curtain bag as well if you don't already have one.
I just keep my hood folded nicely on a shelf in my garage wrapped in some towels.
Back in 1962 I took a long trip with a Buddy in a 1959 Bugeye and we either had to decide whether to go top up all the way or no top. We chose to leave the top at home since we couldn't take the top and our luggage.

i did see that you have to remove the rear bar. I thought about just folding it up, but I'd like to protect it as well as possible. We will be using it a fair amount, as my lady has photosensitive epilepsy

I always just carefully roll mine up (with cloth covering both sides of the vinyl, and strap it to the top frame after the frame is stowed behind the seats.

Yes, I always thought that the original method of stowing the top worked pretty well.....but bugeye guys side curtain wallet has a lot of merit!

Thanks for the interest, our top tube will actually accommodate a top with or without the rear bar in place. You can remove the bar and put it in it's own pouch or if you fold the whole top carefully, the top will fit into the main compartment without removing the bar. Removing the bar allows for a better, flatter fold and it's better for your top for long term storage. Have a great driving season everyone!

Hey the Red top that I bought from you works great and really sets off the car. I also have a red tuneau cover which really looks good on an Old English White Bugeye.
I store my top in the garage wrapped in a few towels, since I hardly ever use it.
