Does anyone carry this part?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a parts house that stocks that little gasket that goes between the bracket of the windshield's center bar and the dashboard. Know what I'm talking about? Mine's pretty much rotted away.

Neither Moss or Victoria British carry it.

I'm stripping a '70 right now and I'll lose the gasket before I use it so I might as well send it to you. Unless you feel otherwise of course.

Can you take a picture of it? I might be able to advise a way to make it ... probably just from regular gasket material.

Most parts stores sell rolls of gasket materials. Get yourself one of those, then lay it under that piece, trace around it, and cut it out.

I had no idea that you could actually buy gasket material. I've seen some of those "spray-on" gaskets, but those are mainly for engine applications, I think.

Gasket material is availble by the foot usually from Rolls, in almost any type and thickness you can even think of, includeing Cork.

I keep mine in old welding rod alum, cans. Now, if I can just find them.

There all all kinds of cutters available but I usually use an x-acto knife and a paper punch that is real heavy. You can also use an alum pipe peice and sharpen one end on grinder so it is a circle cutter if you need to make more than one. Oh yea, an old intertube also makes great gaskets for a few spots like mounting gas tanks. They also come in many thicknesses and should be free at your local truck stop or tire dealer.
