tunnel carpet question

Hi everyone
I'm in the process of fitting a carpet kit in my BN4 (late model, Abingdon). The transmission tunnel carpet is in one piece. I think originally they were in two pieces with a strip of vinyl around the rear end of the removable section to neaten the join. I am wondering whether to leave it in one piece or cut it to make a separate piece for the fixed rear section. It seems to me that it would be easier to remove if I was only taking the main section off. Hope that makes sense. Is there anyone who can give me some advice.
Cheers
Matthew

Yes it will definitely make it easier for trans access. Longbridge model here, and ours is two piece. The longbridge has a deep armrest that covers the seam anyways so you can't tell its two piece, but I think it was two piece originally anyways.

Thanks Healeyblue
That's what I thought. The only issue will be that the rear of the front carpet section won't have an edging. Although, I believe that's how it should be anyway. Does that mean that the rear of the front transmission tunnel sits on top of the carpet of the fixed tunnel?
Thanks
Matthew

that's a help. Of course the Abingdon cars have a smaller armrest, but I think I'll cut the carpet. Even without binding, the vinyl strip on the front section will neaten it up.
Thanks Matthew
