Transmission Tunnel Cover - BN7

HI All,

I had to get an used side-shift transmission tunnel covers, I ended up with two covers. And they are slightly different.

The first cover is shown on the left, it's made from 3 pieces of metal and has a substantial flange around the bottom. The second cover appears to be made from one piece of metal, and has a good flange at the from of the cover, but at the rear of the cover the flange is reduced to a very small size.

The rear of the second cover is wider than the first, which means that it doesn't match the parking brake cover very well. (Do these butt together or overlap?)

I would like to use the first tunnel, as it seems to fit better. What do you think?

On my BN6, the tunnel (before I modified it) looked more like the on-piece shown on the right.

I would recommend that you use whichever one fits best, as the carpet will cover it anyway.

As I plan to reinstall my side-shift trans sometime this winter, I'm looking for a usable trans cover myself, any chance you'll want to sell the one you don't use (hoping it will be the one on the right)?

Hi Randy,

I'll work on getting the best fit and keep you posted on which one of the covers becomes surplus.

The one on the right doesn't look like the one in my BN-4/100-6. There's no ridge down the center of mine. Mine is more like the one on the left.

Thanks for all of the input.

It's interesting because I believe that my original cover was made from one piece, not three pieces as shown on the left. The cover on the right is quite a bit wider where it joins the tunnel cover with the handbrake.

Just curious, if you were to squeeze the rear sides closer together (theoretically), would the cover be too tall for the tunnel?

Joe,

The one on the left is the same as the one on my BN7.
It would not be difficult to mig weld metal to the flanges for repairs.
