Probably someones attempt at trailing arms. Are there brackets on the rear end housing for a panhard rod?

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif Looks like an anti-roll bar/panhard bar setup. Shouldn't be too hard to replicate if both brackets are there.

Previously owned by a slightly 'redneck' muscle-car owner, by any chance?

No offence intended, proud northern redneck here! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif Of course, it doesn't get as hot up here, so our necks don't end up *quite* as red...

Either a panhard, or a rear sway bar of some sort? Either way, to be chopped off and painted over! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Unless you were planning on a Chevy 305 HO conversion?

if its useful and can be salvaged I will probably try to get it functioning again. I figured it might be some sort of a trailing arm or an anti tramp bar ....figured id ask the experts though. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Any idea on what other hardware would be required to finish it off? (other than a cutting wheel?)

When i first bought the car I was thinking of a 289/302 Ford with a T-5.....lol no worry though...I will be sticking with A-series power

Would there be general agreement that it is not useful in a car with a 80HP engine?

Why use half-measures? I bet we could fit a Caddy 500 C.I. engine in there! (Always wanted to do something with one of those...)

I know where there is a two rotor Mazda motor cheap. I really think you should explore the A motor. The balance of power and weight, it keeps it fun. I'd definitely rebuild the pan bar setup. That is going to be my next project.

ive seen that hemi powered sprite posted before...i bet that thing is a scary ride....although if you planted the gas from a dead stop it would take a few minutes to find some traction.

Im deffinately going to stay with a an A-series motor but I'd like to push what the lil 1275 can do...Im really thinking about going with a freshened up 1275 bored to maybe 1340 and a small turbo....that should be more than enough fun and I think i can accomplish it for a reasonable amount of money. I need to fit a morris service 5spd conversion into my budget as well /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

any suggestions on where I can find more info on the anti roll bar / panhard bar set up?
