Hello everyone,
I have a '76 TR6, 43k miles. It has an engine tick.
I replaced the head with a remanufactured one that I had for another car, which didn't solve anything. At that time, I also replaced all the lifters.
Then, I decided the tick was coming from the bottom end, so I replaced the main bearings, thrust washers, and connecting rod bearings, all of which appeared to be in very good shape when I got in to them. It is still ticking.
Seems to be most noticeable after warmup, and is somewhat intermittant. I tried to isolate by disconnecting spark plug wires from all six cylinders one at a time and it doesn't change.
Otherwise the car runs great, with no missing or smoke.
Any ideas?
Thanks
