TR2/3/3A Tr-3 Sidescreen Question

Previous sidescreen posts have got me to thinking on restoring mine. The ones that came with the car did have the double sliding window, and are the wedge type mounts. Although I don`t think they were originally equiped that way. My question is, what is in the chanel where the plexiglass slides?
A window felt of some sort? Double tracked ? Does anyone have a picture they could post?

I'd guess, by your VIN, that the split windows are correct but I'd have to check Piggot's book. TR3's did come with the wedge/sliding window but some very early ones came with the solid window/zipper like the TR2's..
I don't have the original units but some old AMCO ally types with felt strips top and bottom about 1/4 in square.

After looking on the TRF site, It is plauseable that the sliding windows are correct for my car, and they do sell the plexiglass and weather stripping {Felt channel}. I surmise that this channel is only one groove for the plexiglass to ride in and the fixed window has a seperator strip {which is also available through TRF} to keep the plexiglass from rubbing together, keeping it from scratching.
I should have looked at thier site before I posted the questions, it answered all of my questions.

If memory serves, the fixed portion was trapped between the channel for the sliding portion, and the frame. IOW, one side of the channel served as the divider between the fixed & sliding portions.

ISTR there was also a metal end cap on the fixed portion, with a felt strip that served as seal between the two halves.

With all of the hand work and sewing necessary in restoring side curtains, I would bite the bullet and have someone do them for you.
Larry Learn did mine 10-12 years ago, and did a fantastic job. He has probably done 500 or more sets over the years, as he used to do them for TRF. He has taught the people currently doing them for TRF. I think you would be happy either way.
