Rudd Speed Conversion

I finshed rebuilding my BJ7 several years ago and have now decided I want a little more power. I wanted any modifications to be "period" so I went to see my friend who owns a Healey Restoration Business and he let me see some pieces that are soon to be put on the market again thanks to a business tie up with the legendary Ken Rudd.
The Rudd Speed conversion is once again to be offered to Healey owners and should be good for approx. 180BHP when fitted.
We are going to use my car for prototype testing, so I thought you might like to see some of the pre-production parts before they are completed and go on sale.

The kit will consist of an additional 1.75 carb (assuming you already have two!), reprofiled cam to original Ken Rudd specification, New manifold, (one for RH drive and one for LH drive), Alloy high capacity Rocker cover and a signed certificate from Ken Rudd. No prices available as yet, and no availability date. It is also hoped to sell these directly in the States.

Also thought you might like to see one of the famous "Don" cars, which is currently in the Workshop :-

This one is coming to Le Mans with us later this year.

Alan, Nice looking hardware. It sure would be nice if the valve cover was machined and included a neoprene "O" ring to effects its seal to the engine block.---FWIW---Keoke

Alan,
I had enquired about the conversion approximately a month ago. Peter did respond to my email indicating that they were making progress but still working on things. He couldn't give me an availability date either.

What do you know about the cam and the "drivability" of the car with the conversion. Does the conversion create a "rough" racer or is the cam satisfactory for a higher performance yet still smooth road car?
Thanks for any insight you can offer. I may just have to wait for your analysis after assembly on your BJ7.
