Oil pressure line connection to oil filter post

We are talking TR3A. In the Moss book page 12, oil filters, there is part #75 labeled stud, filter head to block. I removed this when I was cleaning the block and am sure I put it back in but I don't have any oil pressure when I turn the engine over with the starter. I have not started it yet. I wanted to make sure I had pressure. I took off the rocker arm cover and have good pressure on the rocker arms. The workbook says that #75 is a tubular stud. I did not notice any different from any other stud. Should I start the car and see if the higher RPMs will force some oil to the gauge?

I think my TR4 is same as TR3A in this respect. There is a banjo fitting at the one stud, to allow oil pressure up to the pressure gauge.If you remove the nut, washers and banjo, you should see a slot beside the stud to allow oil pressure to the gauge.

One possible cause of your problem, there are two copper washers, different sizes, on either side of the banjo. The "looser" fittng one needs to go on the inside, to keep from blocking the oil to the gauge. If reversed, the gauge might not read but there should still be oil pressure.

It sounds like you have oil pressure, if it's getting up to the rockers, so I think the above scenario is the most likely one.

Another possibility, did you install a new gasket under the filter head? If so, did you check that none of the passageways were blocked by the gasket or any sealer used on it? I'd expect to see very little or no oil pressure if this were the problem.
