It rained yesterday!

"It rained yesterday" is just a cryptic opening for one of those "newsy," non-technical posts about driving the car.

There was enough rain yesterday to make me feel that I wouldn't run over any huge amounts of residual road salt -- so I started it up and drove it to work. It idled a little funky at first, but that improved with exercise. I disengaged the OD once and then it never reengaged. When I got to the parking lot, I flipped the switch a couple of times, but didn't hear the solenoid click, so I guess I know where to look first: an electrical problem. In a TR3. Who'da thunk?????

Happy early-spring, everyone!

Moses - The title you chose for this topic sounds like a perfect title for a song. Give the TR a few more runs and you'll have it humming right along.

I got mine started last week on the dregs of last year's gas. I ran it in the garage with the door open. I can't drive it because the front end is up on jack stands, the valance is off and the front suspension is all apart fixing the steering box (done), the leak in the radiator (done), the control head (done) and finally the bushes in the wishbones. I'm determined to get rid of the squeaks that have been in the front end for 40 to 45 years. During that time, I've replaced things about 4 times, but the squeak is always there.

Maybe the title for another song ?

It could happen to you too, Art... Watch it!

OD update: It was the dashboard switch. A little vigorous switch operation "cleaned" it, and now it works again.
