I drove the TR4 over 200 miles on Saturday! Up and down the Jemez mountains here in NM... Ran like a top, never overheated (even with a 3000 foot elevation climb.) There is nothing like 4 cylinders of British thunder echoing off the Ponderosa pines! an awesome day. No pictures, but had to share anyway.
 
A great feeling to be sure and Hwy 4 (if that is what you were on) is a fine road.

I'll be in Santa Fe next month (in the TR3A) and could use a small favor... I'll send a PM.

Well done. Lucky you! I only managed four miles in my TR3 and then 10 miles in my Triumph Toledo yesterday. That was the first time I have used them in over a month thanks to our Scottish summer weather. Hopefully the weather will improve soon so that I can use them again before the winter!
 
It's a wonderful feeling. I've been racking up the miles this summer. After a few years sorting through some minor electrical issues, carb tuning and trouble shooting a PCV causing oil leaks, I now have the car running absolutely "perfect". It's really unbelievable.

I have a few small projects on my list but, putting them off for now so I can enjoy the car and d-r-i-v-e.

PS: I can't tell you how satisfied I was to solve that PCV issue. Some "less than qualified" mechanic thought he was doing me a favor a few years ago and messed it all up. Caused crankcase pressure and (new) significant oil leaks which really upset me since the engine had 6K miles on a rebuild. Now, it works as designed and, at worst, I get one drop of oil after an hour's drive!

Not nearly as many miles, but our monthly dinner meeting for the Triumph Club here gave me the opportunity to give the previous owner of my 59 TR3 a quick ride in the newly "freshened' version. We both had big smiles.
