Inner door panels on a 100-6

I'm redoing the interior panels on my 100-6 from front to back. So far I've covered and replaced the front kick panels, the dash, and the dash top. Here's my question - I've never had the inner panels for the doors. There is a top and bottom section, but the screws in all the pictures I look at seem to go in a straight line across the wooden support piece. How do you fasten both the upper and lower panels to the door? If the screws are in the bottom of the top panel, what holds the bottom panel in place? Or the other way around.

In a word, Nothing. The top panel goes far enough up that there is no need to secure it as the other things in the door keep it in place. the bottom of the lower piece is kept in place by the lower filler piece. I have found an original that is curved and fits between the inner and outer door skins. The latest piece I bought from Heritage is just a flat piece that is the same shape as the door bottom and wedges in after the lower panel is in place. This is all for a 3000 but I think it is the same for a 100-6.

Wow -So I just screw across the bottom of the top panel, and the lower panel wedges in the remaining space, with the piece that goes in the bottom of the door pressing against it at the bottom...Is that correct?

Does the upper panel overlap the lower panel?

Like the above post, my bottom panel comes up to the TOP of the wooden cross piece and the top panel comes down an inch or so past the top of the bottom panel. Screws go through both panels. Not saying that is factory correct but it works! Bob
