I am just finishing up installing a trunk liner kit on my BJ8 and trying to make it as correct as possible. I do not see how the inner battery hold down bar is attached to secure the battery in the battery box. Also my car is missing the wood spacer, anyone have the dimensions for fabricating this piece?
THanks
Ed

The battery clamp consists of a small piece of angle and two rods with wing nuts . The rods have hooked ends to go in the side of the battery box (there are tabs with holes in) . The angle bar goes on the front top corner edge of the battery to pull the battery back into and against the wood spacer . The rods angle down at a 45ish angle .
dont forget you need the hard plastic battery tray to fit into the battery supports .

Hopefully this may help re sizing of the battery support wood
Battery Support.jpg

It is also shown on the AH Spares web site : BATTERY-SUPPORT-wood-1.aspx with the sizing in metric (33cm x 3cm x 2 cm)

I have just made up one of my own in ash to the imperial sizes above and using 1/4" UNF stainless 4 pronged T nuts pushed into the wood.

According to the Moss catalogue the thinner wood piece was used on BJ8s up to body number 76138, 76139 and up used the thicker piece.
