For cars in the UK:
www.howmanyleft.com
shows the numbers that the British DVLA has recorded as on the road and registered as not taxed for road use (typically sitting idle or in need of repair/restoration/a good home).
For my Jensen-Healey it shows 122 on the road and another 209 as off road.
Since around 900 were kept in the UK that means about 37% have survived with around 13% still on the road (excellent, really, compared to much more popular cars like Cortinas, etc.)
Playing with the numbers from the years first registered givces me an estimate for Mark 1s of about 28 on the road and 75 SORN'ed (that's mine); and for Mark 2 & GTs of 85 driving and 140 not.
What's more interesting is doing Lotus Elite- it shows BOTH Mark 1s and 2s, if you look at the years first registered.
It's interesting that for cars like the Elite and my Big Healey that a higher % of them are still on the road despite their age than much newer cars, and cheaper cars (like my Jensen and presumably MGs, Triumphs, etc.) too....
Shame my Rochdale doesn't make the list....
Not sure where something like this should go!"
