Help save my car from the crusher!

So, I put the body tub for the '62 up on the trailer today to to prep it for the ride to the scrap yard, and kind of got misty-eyed. It's pretty sad to see a project stall and then fade away. Luckily my work with my "new" '75 is going well

I'm hoping someone on here may be able save the body from the scrap yard. I'd much rather give it to someone to restore than have it be sent to scrap.

If anyone is interested in a free body tub from a '62 sprite, just let me know. She needs work (floors, rear fender repair, etc.), but I'm sure for the right person it'd be a great start and a second life for a car I've been lugging around for almost 8 years now. I've attached a link below with some photos. I have a clean PA title, and I'm located about 30 mins north of Philly. I've also got other parts available for sale as well (see the album).

If you have any questions just let me know!

Thanks!

Dave, here's an idea to consider: Donate the project to 1) a charity - NAMI for Basil, as an example - there could be an online auction and the proceeds go to NAMI (or other charity), 2) a deserving member of our armed forces, 3) something that everyone here could support? The "gang" could handle the rebuild like they did for the Father's Bugeye. You'd get the tax deduction for the parts, which could actually be more than you'd get selling everything. It would keep the car from hitting the scrap heap and you'd get to see your dream have a very worthy ending. Something to think about.

Another possibility is to get with "Lyn" from "the list". She is in New Jersey (I think) and wants a project for her school classroom to restore. This sounds perfect.

I really like the group rebuild idea. Unfortunately I've parted with with some of the parts, however I still have all the "biggies". I'm sure with the help of a team of people we could get enough stuff together to put her back together...

Would anyone else be interested in such a cause? I think it'd be great to get a restored '62 into a charity auction somewhere...it'd be a really fun way to give back.

Perhaps we should start another thread dedicated to this idea?
