Header rail weatherstriping

Hello All

Looking to see if anyone may be able to post a picture of how the header rail and weatherstrip mate together on a BJ8.
The weatherstip was not on my car so I am a bit unsure.
Seems like it should go between the header rail and the top of the windshield frame. I would also assume that it gets glued.
But rather that assume I would like to check.

Thanks

The wooden header has an aluminum rail that is screwed on. That rail has a lip that runs the length of the wood. A rubber seal get's pushed onto that rail, which runs along the windscreen and continues along the side over the side windows.

AUSMHLY: Are you referring to the seal set that runs from the top of the roll up window, across the top of the windshield and then along the top of the other roll up window?
If so I am aware of that but I thought there was an additional piece of rubber only that gets glued and only runs on top of the windshield.
It is moss part number 682-360.

Thanks

Chris, I just finished going through the top installation procedures with someone else today, so I had an opportunity to write the seal installation procedures that were missing before. The revised instructions are on their way to you. They include pictures of the front bow and seal area.

Hello BJ8TONY,

There is a piece of rubber that goes in between the furflex press on rubber piece and the front lip of the aluminum header rail.

That rubber piece has a flat section about an inch wide and a bulb at the edge. The flat rubber section goes under the furflex rubber bulb. The bulb of the flat rubber, presses against the edge of the furflex bulb.

The rubber should be glued in place, but may not need be. I pressed mine in place, under the furflex, to see if it made a difference vs not having one. Mine stays in place with out glue. I have a cloth top, and maybe the material helps keep it in place, versus everflex which is smoother and no real texture.

1. shows the rubber piece
2. shows where it goes
3. shows it in place

PS.
My rubber piece, which is softer than the ones from Moss, is available from Healey Surgeons.
I'm also using Bristleflex, not furlex.
