Got a header for Ms Triss - so far am really happy, except I should have slapped some paint on it before I installed it. Let me say that a header is probably worth it just to make dealing with the two studs under the manifold. sheesh. Anyway, yesterday took a very loud car (with only the header on) to Hot Rod Scott's the local custom muffler guy. Man did they do a great job! quick, welding is amazing, put a flange on the header so I can remove things easily and it really breathes better - nice rorty sound too. I'm very happy.

cr*ppy pics I know but it was my phone in a hurry.

Very nice!

I wish you well with your header -> head sealing. I'm trying to get the issues there with the Tunebug sorted out right now.

Your system looks very nice and very clean. Enjoy!

John-Peter and Drew;
I am going to be using a header on my car (B/E). Question are you using the hanger off the transmission.? I do not have one and they are rare as hens teeth.

Paul, you'll need to hear from Drew on that - mine is the 1500 engine.

Thanks J-P. Are there any connections caudal to the header, other than the muffler on your car? It looks very nice and you'll never have to worry about rust.

Oooow, your baffle pulls right out.

PUll it out JP and take it for a spin ~now~! :driving:

Hey, you got two of 'em, right?

Pull the one out of the second and cut off the end cap and just bolt that in. ( the end cap).

JP-looks good. Let us know how the under-the-axle approach works. I have that on my MGB and the axle taps the exhaust on bumpy roads. I had to drop the muffler slightly to reduce the axle/exhaust banging. I'm guessing your's is designed so the limit straps prevent this, but I can't tell. I am considering building a loop over the rear axle this Winter, but the B is a different creature than the Spridget (#909 has it coming out under the door, so not an issue).

Not going to - breathe better or not I don't want the car any louder than now.

Yes, I do have the hanger off the transmission. My exhaust also goes under the axle, no issues with it hitting at this point.

OK - next time SWMBO asks where that smell is coming from, I will say it is a Caudal odor.

They made it up of three pipes but it is only bolted at the header and the muffler - all else is welded.

Let's see how loud it'll be, for scientific reasons of course....

JP, if yours is loud now, maybe it has been altered. I don't recall a removable baffle when I worked at the H-D dealer in '96.

Didn't say it was loud, I said it was loud enough.
