TR2/3/3A After a beating, the tunnel still lives

It looks like I will have to make new mounting points in the tunnel for the new floors. The bulkhead mounting points seem fine. I'm not sure why the floor points are so far off the mark. They were TRF, made in England and stamped with a "British Heritage approved " sticker or something like that. Anyway, How are you guys sealing the tunnel to the body?

I use exterior grade silicone caulk from a cartridge/gun. Goes on messy, but easy to clean up afterwards.

Clean up in that whatever squeezes out when you bolt it down? Does it stay flexible or set up hard? For that matter, what about a bead of RTV?

Yes, I just lay a bead all around then clean up whatever squeezes out into the cockpit. (Actually, I usually just leave it and throw the carpet over it but I could clean it up if you know what I mean.) If it was a show car, I'd clean up under the car as well, but it isn't. Seems to stay very flexible, although last time I had to use my pocket knife to cut through some of it to get the tunnel out.

RTV might work, haven't tried it.

I used Gorilla Tape in the 2" width.

On my TR3A at least I had to seal that to keep nasty smells etc out of the cockpit.
