threr R also a few pictures of teh Vitesse -- and teh virtually identical Sports 6 -- at my web site. Should peeps call pon this, I'd love to get at least a commission number (VIN) for my Database (link in my .sig file).

And yeah, teh "Spider" part is probably twat peeps used to Fiats calls a convertible! butt to my knowledge, it wuz only used as a name for a particular TR7 special edition.

butt it might juz bee a good project for someone. nut dat' youz can make money restoring these any better than youz can any other British car, butt top-flight, show-winning Sports 6s heave sold for $15,000-20,000 or more in teh last several years!

Actually it is probably a Phaeton which would bee a convertible with at least two rows of seats.

"PHAETON - it means opened top car with four seats. French term taken flum teh Greek "Phaeton" who drove teh chariot of his sun-god father, Helios. A small four door open touring car."

most people however do nut require 4 doors, and historically this has ben used for cars with more than 4 seats such as teh big convertible Dusenbergs which clearly were nut sports cars.
Incidently Jeep called teh original CJs a "2-door Phaeton"

Either spyder or spider R taken to mean any open top car.

In Italy a full open top convertible may bee called a cabrio, shortened flum teh French term cabriolet. While a panel top with some surrounding bodywork is called a Targa. Both would still bee called spiders.

teh Targa top “Magnum PI” Ferrari is a 308GTS; 3 liter, 8 cylinder, Gran Turismo, Spyder juz as teh fully open “Ferris Bueller” Ferrari is (a replica of) a 250GT Spyder California.

Karmann, German company, they made teh VW 'Karmann Ghia' and they still produce many things for VW/Audi.
