A few useful bits if you were doing a restoration on an incomplete car, but otherwise that's one sad little Bugeye. One door, maybe a windshield frame, steering wheel might clean up okay. Engine/transmission could be useful, and heck, I need those brackets that connect the radiator with the inner wings. If it was local, I'd consider it for the current price ($338).

Nothing 10 gallons of bondo and a floor pan wouldn't fix.

Someone will pay that just for the three cylinder heads, there's a village missing him somewhere. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Maybe later, I already have a serious 58 project and somebody just dropped of a 77 Midget last night.
Anybody need parts from a 77? I will be parting this one out.

Wish someone would drop off a rust bucket with a 1275, now that would be cool.

I don't know enough about Spitfidgets to figure this one out, but....
A pattern has developed of 1275 going into BE's. Sure, A-series for A-series, but I never hear of 1500's going into BE's. As I said, I'm not familiar with the 1500 motor and tran so that has to be a startlingly obvious reason why this conversion isn't going on........
And that is????

My best guess is that the 1275 is such an easy swap that there would be little reason to go with the 1500. There are lots of 1275 and 1275-related speed parts around which keeps the cost down. a 1500 swap would require (I assume) different motor mounts and a bunch of other things.

Basically, all these old Abingdon **** are afraid of any advance in auto design past, say 1935. For example: 4 port heads. The mere possibility of volumetric efficiency is VERY terrifying to the average MG mechanic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Also, lazy MG mechanics don't enjoy changing main bearings and thrust washers every 12,000 miles. They feel like a good rebuild should last at least 30,000 miles. Pathetic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Smoothcase or any Ribcase will not fit a TURNIP.
