Here's the deal:
My 64 MKII, RHD 2.4L is missing a data plate.
JCNA's Judging Guide says it needs to be there.
This tag fits into the bonnet latch recess area, held with two pop rivets, says "Made in England".
I have cleaned my recess down to original paint.
NO such plate.
NO holes, and when the opposite (back) side is inspected, no evidence there ever were any holes.
Now:
Were Jaguars from that era built for non-export fited with such tags?
The JCNA Judging Standards seem to be written for the most common, i.e. vehicles imported and sold by US Jaguar Dealers, as LHD models.
I CAN obtain said plate, and drill said holes, but if this is the way it was built, I want to keep it as it came from Coventry.
Thanks!
