Denis Welch Motorsport in Yoxall constructed this car for Martyn Corfield, to challenge high speed endurance records up to 1000Km record. In November 2009 a successful challenge was undertaken that resulted in numerous new time and distance speed records; including the UK record for the ‘fastest 100 miles ever’ irrespective of age class or type of car.
During its record breaking run it recorded a fastest lap of 153.22mph (the fastest time officially recorded for a Healey in 2009) completing the 1000Km at an average of 148.22mph at Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire. Today it is the current holder of 11 UK records with a further 6 International records awaiting final confirmation by the FIA.
It is now available for anyone wishing to acquire a true piece of Healey motoring history. Due to its high level of achievement the price is reflective; after all where else can you purchase a record holding Healey?
Road legal and ‘on the button ready’ (yet retaining its record breaking patina) for anyone who wishes to undertake further distance speed records or indeed return the car to its spiritual home of Bonneville later this year and attempt the record again. Alternatively this car can be easily converted to be eligible for classic road races such as the Millie Miglia. This car is truly a one off and may not be available again.
