TR2/3/3A TR3 rasied ride height

Hi guys, I am now running my set of TR6 wires and redlines on my TR3, it is hitting in the rear at the top of the tire on the inner fender flange. I need the easist way to lift the back about 1/2 inch, thats all. What do you suggest to get that little bit of body lift.

I think since the frame goes under the axle you will have a hard time getting the ride higher.

The solution is more likely wider rather than higher.

And you thought that out West 'never is heard a discouraging word'.

Longer spring shackles <span style="font-style: italic">would</span> raise the rear end -- however -- it would also bring the frame closer to the rear axle, which is suspended <span style="font-style: italic">over</span> the frame. TR3s in the stock condition have handling issues due to this arrangement, and raising the frame, relative to the axle, will make the situation worse.

Short of raising the whole body tub higher off the frame, I can't think of any solution that raises the rear fender away from the tire without reducing the frame-axle clearance.

If you really want those big tires, maybe you will need to flare your fenders?

I think you and Geo have nailed it. It ain't cheap, but bolting up a wider TR4 rear axle and flaring -- or replicating the overall wider TR3 "Beta" rear fenders -- would be THE way to go.

OR, depending on exactly where the rubbing is, maybe you could go with stock disc wheel studs, then use a spacer behind the wire wheel hub, which would give you around 1/4" more track on each side...possibly just enough to get the inner fender clearance you need, although I still don't know what might happen on the outer fender.
