As the engine would come out 3-4 times a season everything infront except the required sheet metal was removed or removable. the top cross piece is only screwed I as opposed to being welded, it actually holds the Rad in place. The radiator shrouding was remade to fit the Scirocco rad and was attached to the cross piece.
Engine out in less than an hour. In just slightly longer. The Scirocco rad was less than $100 and kept the engine,112HP at the wheels@7500 at about 190 degrees in August.
This is overkill for street car engine.
As I said, I run my street 1275 at the same temp with a 50 YO down flow rad.
