We had a 4 day pass this past weekend and it ends today so today I had to do some local running (Bank, dentist, lawyer)so I took my 8 out for a jaunt. I had ordered a new master cylinder from Woody last week so I figured it would be here today,so before I left I could see my old one was down a little. On my way home I shifted and felt more play in the clutch and by the time I got home it had given up the ghost. I did a little lawn work and it is oppressive outside. I came in a and did a little work and decided it was time to swap the Master cylinder.
I last 5 minutes before I pulled her into the garage. Only took about 20 minutes but will be nice not having to top off the clutch each time I get gas.
Side note, as I was leaving the dentist a lady pulled in beside me and as I backed out she pointed out there were a few drips of oil on the ground (I assume she is just very attentive because it truly was a few spots). I laughed and said all British cars leak. I explained you just have to keep an eye on the oild level. She then said, well with it losing that much oil, you should never have to change it as it will always be new. With a smug look, she walked off.
I think she may have a point
